Ana Rita Pedro was born in Lisbon in 1984. She has a Master degree in Social Policy. In 2006 she has joined the team of research assistants from the Department of Policies and Health Administration at the Portuguese School of Public Health, where she has been involved in some research projects, concerning health literacy, knowledge translation, patient empowerment and the development of personalized health information systems as a literacy tool. In 2009 she started her collaboration with the Portuguese Health System Observatory.

Her research interests are: Health Literacy, Knowledge Translation, Health Policy and Health Information Management.
